Frequently asked Loc Questions

1. Its been about 3 months and the top is not loc’d? It can take up to 6 months to 1 year for your entire head to loc. “Patience”
2. What can I do about the fuzzy/frizzy stray hairs? Fuzzy and frizzy loc’s is a normal process, this can be managed if you palm roll but to frequently your loc’s can thin. Stray hairs, remember your hair is still growing, incorporated the stray hairs into the loc process.
3. The ends of my loc’s are not loc’d, I cut them and they unravel, will they ever loc? First stop cutting them. This is a normal process some ends will loc all the way and some won’t. 
4. What is a good product to loc my hair? Don’t become a product junky, but you must find what works for you, remember stay away from alcohol base products, mineral oil and petroleum.
5. Do I have to have short hair to start my loc’s? No Locs/Dreads can be started at many lengths, suggest seek a professional to find out what would be best for your texture hair,not all starter techniques work on all types of hair. 
6. What is a ACV cleanse? It is a cleansing process of Apple Cider Vinegar, that strips and cleans your locs  from build up of oils and dirt. This process is only recommended twice a year. Why? Because with any striping process, it can make your hair extremely dry and brittle. We don’t want to remove our natural oils. 
7.I noticed some thinning of my loc’s especially around the edges, what could be wrong?  Excessive twisting, pulling of edges, styles that cause pulling. Just like with any style such as pulling into a ponytail can cause breakage around edges and the neck. Putting in weave etc. Loc wears break yourself from excessive re-twisting.
